Engineer burnt alive by spurned lover on the doorstep of her home in Chennai

In a shocking incident a young man set a 22-year-old woman on fire at her Adambakkam residence in Chennai on Monday night after she rejected his love.

The woman's mother and younger sister suffered burn injuries when they tried to save her.

The attack took place around 9pm on Monday, when Akash went to the woman's house in South Chennai's Velachery.

He said Akash was unemployed, and the woman was doing a specialised course after completing her engineering.

She was being pursued by Akash against her will. FTW Explains: Why the Packers and Martellus Bennett are feuding
The Packers had high hopes for Martellus Bennett , who signed a 3-year, $21 million contract with the team during the offseason. At first, I told my agent to tell no teams to claim me because I was still trying to get the surgery.

The mother has sustained 49 per cent burn injuries, while her daughter has 23 per cent.

The victim's uncle, who spoke to the media, said that Akash knew about Induja's father was working overseas and therefore was not at home, which is why he came to the house. "When they opened the door, he poured petrol and set them on fire, and fled the spot", he was quoted as saying on the NDTV report.

Aakash claimed that he and the woman were in a relationship and they planned to marry, police officials said. Induja's father reportedly works in Dubai.

Upon hearing cries, neighbours rushed to call an ambulance, which they claim arrived after 40 minutes.

"Initially, they didn't open the door, but Akash insisted that he would only to talk to Induja".
