After the decision, Bombardier sold a majority stake in its C Series jet business to European aerospace giant Airbus for no cost.

EgyptAir Chairman Safwat Moslem told a Dubai Airshow news conference on Tuesday the CS300 aircraft, which seat 130 passengers, would be used by the airline's domestic and regional carrier EgyptAir Express.

Twelve of the aircraft will be turned into a firm order and the remaining 12 are purchase rights.

North Korean defector was shot six times by border troops: UNC
The most famous incident was in 1976, when two American army officers were killed by ax-wielding North Korean soldiers. This year, North Korean defectors successfully escaping the regime fell by 12.7 percent, according to the Telegraph.

No Middle East customer has said when it would take delivery of CSeries jets. The deal is valued at $1.1 billion based on list prices.

Bombardier has faced a series of problems over the plane, most recently a trade dispute in the U.S. that imposed a 300% import tariff.

Earlier this month an unnamed European airline said it meant to buy at least 31 of the C-Series planes. In October, it said it would impose an 80 percent duty on top of duties of almost 220 percent on the aircraft, a benefit for rival Boeing. The CSeries was two-and-a-half years late and more than $2 billion over budget when it entered service at Deutsche Lufthansa AG's Swiss unit in July 2016. Egypt civil aviation minister Sherif Fathy said in October that the government expected to pay about $3.3bn of the cost to acquire 45 aircraft.
