Solo is a two-time gold winner at the Olympics and said she was left'in shock by the Fifa president's alleged grope

Former Fifa president Sepp Blatter has been accused of sexually assaulting Hope Solo, the US women's football team goalkeeper, at the Ballon d'Or awards ceremony in January 2013.

Solo, who was kicked off the national team a year ago following several controversies, the last being her calling Sweden's players a "bunch of cowards", said, "I had Sepp Blatter grab my ass".

Solo, when asked why she has not spoken out on the incident before, added: "I was nervous for the presentation".

"It was at the Ballon d'Or one year".

Solo said she quickly composed herself and moments later stood on stage with Blatter to present the Federation Internationale de Football Association women's player of the year award to her teammate, Abby Wambach, after United States of America won the gold medal at the London Olympics. Blatter is already serving a ban from Federation Internationale de Football Association after he was ousted for a variety of crimes that rocked worldwide soccer in recent years, but the serious accusation from Solo is an entirely new wrong for Blatter.

"I was in shock and completely thrown off", Solo told the Guardian.

USA tightens restrictions on travel to Cuba
But he said the new restrictions would hurt Cuba's private sector, at a time when the economy is already struggling. Any entity on that list, will now not be allowed to engage in financial transactions with Americans and visa versa.

Blatter has denied the allegations.

Solo says sexual harassment is rampant in sports. After that I didn't see him and that was kind of bad.

After an October New York Times report about repeated sexual assault and harassment claims against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, women throughout the world shared their experiences using the hashtag #metoo on social media. I didn't get to tell him directly, 'Don't ever touch me!' That's the way I've always handled things. In 2004, he was criticized for saying women players should consider wearing more revealing uniforms, such as skimpier shorts, to bring more attention to the game.

"Let the women play in more feminine clothes like they do in volleyball", Blatter said.

The 81-year-old resigned in 2015 and was subsequently banned for ethics breaches. "That decision was taken to create a more female aesthetic, so why not do it in fashion?"
