Selena Gomez SPLITS from The Weeknd after 10 months of dating – as she and ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber continue to spend time together

According to people in the know, Gomez and The Weeknd - whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye - suffered from a long-distance relationship.

It has been quiet a roller coaster year for Gomez, who revealed in September that the reason she quietly stepped back from her career over the summer was because she was recovering from a kidney transplant. He's allegedly texting her nonstop when they're apart.

The split hasn't been easy on the couple that had started dating each other 10 months ago.

As Justin and Selena's hectic relationship throughout the years has made waves across the news, it's clear fans have some thoughts about them reuniting. But we had some questions about what exactly Justin meant with his track "Friends" when he stated his platonic ambitions-and then followed them up with lines like "Wonderin' if you got a body / To hold you tight since I left". People also reports that "Justin is aware Selena's family is not thrilled they are hanging out".

Prior to dating Selena, The Weeknd was involved in a 18-month relationship with model Bella Hadid. There's been talk about hurt feelings on Hadid's side for some time, something her mom, Yolanda Hadid, recently confirmed on "Watch What Happens Live".

"Bella isn't surprised that Abel and Selena split", a source said. Gomez is focusing on her health, a third source told Us Weekly. It wasn't going to last. She also has no sympathy for him.

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd attend the "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between" Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 1, 2017 in New York City.
