Most of NFL's Houston Texans kneel during anthem after owner's 'inmates' remark

Week 8 Preview: Houston Texans at Seattle Seahawks

Owners did not vote to change a policy that would require players to stand for the anthem during that meeting.

Many Houston Texans players knelt on Sunday after team owner Bob McNair made a controversial comment over national anthem protests.

The Seahawks will get a firsthand look at Brown, who ended a lengthy holdout six days ago and is making his first start, on Sunday when the Texans visit Seattle.

But the network's "Post Game Show" aired a brief clip of Houston's players collectively taking a knee with arms linked along the sideline during the national anthem.

The Seattle Seahawks seem to be hitting their stride as we wrap up the first half of the 2017 National Football League season, and they'll look to extend their winning streak to four games against the Houston on Texans to head into the midway point of the year on a high note.

According to the Seattle Times, nine of the Texans stood for the anthem, but the rest were kneeling or seated. "He's fired!" Trump said at the time.

Pochettino and Mourinho have moved on from Dier controversy
He, along with little-used former England full-back Luke Shaw, is out of contract at the end of the season. "Because Fellaini finishes his contract and Luke Shaw doesn't".

Players had been planning some form of protest for Sunday in response to his "inmates" comments, with some reports saying they even considered peeling the Texans logo of their helmets.

It appears that McNair's apology was not enough for some players. I never meant to offend anyone and I was not referring to our players.

In arguing for the league to do something, McNair said they can't have "inmates running the prison."

A group of Seahawks active in previous games protested again by sitting on the bench. I would never characterize our players or our league that way and I apologize to anyone who was offended by it.

Kaepernick was not signed by any team after becoming a free agent following the 2016 season.
