Texans Owner Bob McNair Issues ANOTHER Apology For "Inmates" Comment (TWEET)

Houston Texans Introduce Bill O'Brien

Bob McNair, the owner of the Houston Texans and a University of SC alum, apologized late Friday after comments he made during an owner's meeting on the national anthem protests surfaced in an article.

Texans offensive lineman Duane Brown was not one of those surprised by McNair's comments: "This is bigger than just the protests", Brown told reporters.

(The exact wording, as McNair argued for banning players from protesting during the anthem: "We can't have the inmates running the prison.") According to various reports, the Texans players-including star receiver DeAndre Hopkins-are pissed. And he wasn't finished there.

"I protested [during the national anthem] past year, and there was no backing of my character as a man as a leader or a player", Brown said.

I'm not sure if I'm buying this latest explanation.

Double vehicle bombing strikes Mogadishu
The US military has increased its strikes against al Shabaab this year with nearly 20 drone missions against the terror group. The Al-Qaeda-affiliated Shabaab claimed yesterday's bombing and hotel assault in a statement on its Andalus radio station.

Troy Vincent, a former National Football League player and current National Football League executive, reportedly couldn't stand for the remarks.

McNair, 79, has since gone on record to express his "regrets" about using "that expression", insisting it was a "figure of speech that was never meant to be taken literally".

Former NFL star punter Chris Kluwe in October of 2015 penned an open letter to McNair, in his own unique way, asking if the Texas billionaire is a "cowhumping glue-huffer stupid enough to buy in on clearly outdated ideals of bigotry and intolerance?"

Said Brown, when asked if he believes progress is being made, "It's frustrating, but I don't think it should discourage anybody". "I regret that I used that expression", he said in a statement. We can't let you have your own beliefs. If you have Seattle questions, that's what I'm here to talk about, with all due respect, and there's a lot of respect there.

"This is bigger than just the protests".

Kaepernick, who remains a free agent, is expected to attend next week's meeting between players and owners. You're an inmate. We can't let you guys out of line. You got to continue to feel how you feel.
