Animal Crossing mobile game details will finally be revealed on October 24

The long-awaited release of the mobile version of Nintendo's Animal Crossing is finally on the horizon, with the game set to arrive toward the end of next month.

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp isn't officially out until late November, but you can grab it right now for your iPhone if you live in Australia or are willing to say you do.

The premise is subtly different from previous games, which have mostly been based on paying off the mortgage on your house, furnishing it, and then sitting back to consider your life choices. Similar to every other game, Pocket Camp has a friendship feature where your relationship with other campers can be improved by doing favors and generally interacting.

To get new furniture and props for your camp, you need crafting materials, which are gained both naturally (by fishing, picking and so on) and by trading rewards (giving a fish to an animal who wants one, for example, might result in them giving you some cotton). This is Animal Crossing after all!

As everybody suspected, the game is free with in-app purchases.

You can register for updates on the official site using your Nintendo account or the Google Play Store. If the footage is anything to go by, these tickets will cost 99 cents for 20 or $7.99 for 200.

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp comes out on iOS and Android in late November. By now the apk file you'll need to install Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has been shared widely. That level of simplicity carries over to the menus which, though there are plenty of icons to tap on, make ideal sense and are easy to navigate once you get into the routine. A consistent internet connection is also required.

"You're in charge, so you can decorate your own campsite however you like!"

Animal Crossing is played in real-time and the world will gradually change between day, evening and night just as it does around you. You can also install amenities like a swimming pool.

The premise of the game seems to be something like Neko Atsume-style games, where you place objects in an area and attract visitors.

People got a bit excited when they heard the news.

In Animal Crossing mobile there's a social element. Throw Nets, which let you catch a bunch of fish at once, and honey, which does the same for bugs, are also sold in exchange for Leaf Tickets.

Nintendo promises plenty to do in time for Pocket Camp, including holiday and seasonal events.
