The mother of a Pakistani journalist who was abducted in 2015 and freed this week, says her daughter is under extreme mental pressure and unable to tell much about her ordeal.

Reacting to the news of Ms. Shahzadi's rescue close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Ms. Ansari said she felt like showering all her love on the journalist.

He also points out that the tribals from Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa provinces have played a key role in her recovery.

Well-known Pakistani journalist and rights activist Beena Sarwar tweeted about Shahzadi being found: "Thrilled that the disappeared activist-journalist Zeenat Shehzadi is home safe".

Prior to her abduction two years ago, Zeenat Shahzadi worked for a local newspaper in Lahore, and was working on a Case pertaining to the disappearance of an Indian Citizen Hamid Ansari who had gone missing in Pakistan from November 2012.

As a result, security agencies had admitted to the commission that Hamid was in their custody.

The Journalist's family had assumed her to be dead but at last she had been rescued by security forces. Since May 2013 and till Zeenat "disappeared" in August 2015, the two women had interacted nearly on a daily basis on the phone.

Shahzadi, reportedly travelled from Lahore to Islamabad to attend the hearings.

Though he agreed that, "Helping an Indian prisoner - Hamid Ansari - in Pakistan has cost us dearly".

The 25-year-old freelance reporter had earlier raised her voice for missing persons in Pakistan. She was due to appear before the Commission for Missing Persons the next day.

He was later sentenced to three years' imprisonment by a military court on charges of illegally entering Pakistan and "spying". In her attempts to track down and Indian national, Hamid Ansari who had been embroiled in espionage allegations, Shahzadi had managed to get in touch with Ansari's mother, Fauzia Ansari. The application was accepted and forwarded to the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances.

Shahzadi's family suffered a tragedy in March 2016 when her teenaged brother, distraught over her kidnapping, hanged himself.
