There was also no news on what agreements Labour had made with NZ First to secure its support, though Ardern hinted that her plan to implement a water tax had softened during negotiations and said she and Peters were united in their belief that the regions of New Zealand had been "neglected" and needed significant investment.

The Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop, isn't backing away from her comments questioning the Turnbull Government's ability to trust a Labour government in New Zealand.

Jacinda Ardern has chosen her cabinet and announced the 16 Labour MPs who will receive Ministerial posts on Friday, but she won't reveal who got what until next week.

"I value our relationship with the Australian Govt highly", she first tweeted.

As for her first statement as the country's next leader, Ardern said her party is now focused on "forming a strong and durable government that can deal with the many challenges this country faces".

But Ms Ardern has denied her government is a "coalition of the losers" and says she is hopeful it will see out its term.

Albert Einstein predicted the existence of gravitational waves way back in 1915 on the basis of his theory of general relativity . In a million years, the cloud will spread across the whole galaxy, seeding stars and their solar systems with heavy elements.

Following this afternoon's meeting, Ms Ardern will reveal her new Cabinet.

"I have great ambition as a woman and as prime minister elect that we will make great gains as a government in issues like equal pay, in issues like supporting women in the roles they choose to take, whether they be work or in caring roles".

According to Ardern, the Labor will convene on Friday before a three-day long weekend to decide ministerial portfolios and hold a swearing-in ceremony next week.

Clark wrote on social media: "Congratulations Jacinda Ardern - about to become New Zealand NZ Prime Minister after an extraordinary election campaign and successful negotiations to form a new government".

"In electing their third woman to serve as Prime Minister, New Zealanders have again provided an inspiration for women and girls around the world". Look fwd to seeing you soon & building on our two nations' great partnership.
