T-Mobile puts 5GB cap on high-speed data in Canada and Mexico

T-Mobile wrote, "Starting November 12, 2017 customers on T-Mobile ONE, Simple Choice North America, or legacy rate plans with a qualifying feature will receive unlimited talk, text and data with a maximum of 5GB of 4G LTE". "Mobile Without Borders" was actually an extension of T-Mobile's worldwide data roaming free services that were introduced in 2013. The subscribers can approach unlimited LTE by adding One Plus worldwide but it would cost you $25 monthly on the top of your base plan.

After years of floundering, T-Mobile has become a real threat to Verizon and AT&T by offering options that the latter carriers didn't. That's thanks to the company's Mobile Without Borders perk, which was implemented in 2015. However, it looks like the wireless carrier will be falling in line, as it is downgrading one of its benefits that it started almost two years ago called Mobile Without Borders.

The users can access to less data if they aren't subscribed to an unlimited plan, for example, a customer with 6 GB cap will only have 4 GB to utilize in overseas in case the 2 GB has already consumed.

T-Mobile states that less than one percent of its customers that use Mobile Without Borders go over 5GB.

Should the Bears sign LB NaVorro Bowman?
While he played in all 16 games during his rookie campaign, he was used only sparingly, finishing with 46 tackles. Here we look at how the 49ers came to release Bowman and what it means for him and San Francisco going forward.

In a statement, T-Mobile framed this change as a way to "prevent usage beyond the intent of the product".

T-Mobile is bringing to an end one of its more generous perks that gave customers traveling to Canada and Mexico free unlimited LTE service. Either way, T-Mobile says that less than 1 percent of users who travel to either country use over 5GB in a month.

The plan is named 'Mobile Without Borders' and it lets the customers be connected even while they travel to Mexico and Canada.
