Sri Lanka's batsman Dimuth Karunaratne, reacts during their 1st Test cricket match against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017.

Prior to the trophy unveiling, the newly appointed captain of Pakistan Test side Sarfraz Ahmed requested the Sri Lankan team to visit Pakistan for the matches.

Captain of Pakistan team Sarfraz Ahmed said that the team has learned a lot from retired cricketers Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan.

The left-hander was unbeaten on a sedate 81 with skipper Dinesh Chandimal on 32 not out as the pair added 82 for an unbroken fourth-wicket stand after Sri Lanka were struggling at 61-3.

Dinesh Chandimal (60) and Niroshan Dickwella (42) were not out at stumps, playing out almost 21 overs together.

Prediction: PSG vs Bayern Munich
But after both won the opening matchday, this game could be crucial in determining who ends up progressing as group winners. Fondly referred to as JJ, the skilful player said he felt glad being among the best during his active soccer days.

Earlier, veteran legspinner Yasir Shah struck twice for Pakistan in the morning - Kusal Mendis was caught behind for 10 and Lahiru Thirimanne went leg before wicket for a duck.

Karunaratne and Chandimal rotated the strike as boundaries continued to be hard to come by, getting through to tea without further damage, but the former threw it away just seven shy of a seventh Test hundred when he set off for a single and the skipper remained rooted at the non-striker's end.

Though assured of a good display by the team, the head coach said that it will not be easy tackling Sri Lanka and we are not treating them lightly. The PCB has to be acknowledged for its effort as well as the International Cricket Council (ICC) for bringing the game back to Pakistan's cricket-mad population.

Fast-rising batsman Babar Azam at four and Haris Sohail will attempt to fill the void, while Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq will also be expected to play a leading role.

Chandimal was given leg before to Yasir Shah on 42.
