The city fire department says they're aware, and trying to warn residents to stay away from the area, but it's now too unsafe for first responders to assess the situation. Miami officials said Tuesday in a tweet.

The deputy director of Miami's building department, Maurice Pons, said in the city's statement that he "would not advise staying in a building next to a construction crane during a major hurricane like Irma".

The City of Miami has warned its citizens that the huge construction cranes that dot the skyline could cause potentially deadly accidents in Hurricane Irma.

"It takes five to six days per crane, and they can be up to 900 feet tall and include 10,000-pound counterweights", WLRN reports.

While over six and a half million people in Florida were told to evacuate in the face of the increasingly strong hurricane, the winds that have arrived there are now gauged at being in excess of 150 miles per hour. She told The Associated Press that from her 14th floor apartment, she saw the crane toppled over where it hit another building. He said videos of the collapse posted on social media showed a luffing crane, which lacks a horizontal arm and does not spin. "We will have a crew over to secure the crane as soon as the weather permits".

A second crane collapse was later reported at a building under construction on Northeast 30th Terrace.

"The crane structure can collapse", said Miami City Manager Daniel Alfonso earlier this week.

The horizontal arms of some cranes were left loose to spin in the winds.

"Hurricane winds are blowing in one direction but a tornado could twist things, and nothing can be created to withstand the tornado effect", Whiteman said.

Stephen King's It movie Review & Rating: Terrifcly Scary Movie
The film explores some very dark subject matter that has nothing to do with Pennywise and the humor adds some much needed levity. The story begins in 1988, when little Georgie chases a handmade boat into a sewer, where he sees Pennywise lurking.
