Putin condemns North Korea nuclear test, sues for calm

Russian President Vladimir Putin has refused to comment on domestic American politics and to criticize his USA counterpart, taking a jab at Donald Trump by saying "He is not my bride, and I'm not his groom".

Officials in Seoul put the magnitude at 5.7 while the US Geological Survey said it was a magnitude 6.3.

"He [Trump] is not my bride and I'm not his groom". Bu the way, Putin has agreed with his South Korean counterpart to hold a detailed discussion of this topic. This is not our business.

South Korea have previously asserted its doubts regarding Pyongyang's ability to develop miniaturised nuclear weapons. One issue Putin underlined as being particularly insulting is the suggestion that Russian Federation poses a threat like that of the world's rogue regimes.

At an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, US Ambassador Nikki Haley said Washington would present a new sanctions resolution for debate in the coming days.

Pyongyang will not relinquish its military program under pressure of sanctions and military threats, because the examples of Iraq and Libya have convinced it that nuclear deterrence is the only credible way to ensure its security, President Putin told journalists on Tuesday.

Kenyatta, who garnered 8.22 million votes against the opposition leader's 6.8 million votes, said his win was a result of "the will of the people".

The comment comes after the United States ordered the Russian diplomatic mission to close its San Francisco consulate on Saturday, the latest step in the tit for tat between America and Russia that has led to consulate closures and staff reductions.

Speaking after USA officials ordered Russia to vacate diplomatic premises in several American cities, Putin said he would order the Russian foreign ministry to take legal action over alleged violations of Russia's property rights. "This does not do reflect well on our American partners", he said.

"The fact that Americans have reduced the number of diplomatic representations in the U.S., well it is their right, but it was done not in a polite manner and that does not give credit to our American partners", Putin said Tuesday. For that reason, we will not speculate on any potential Russian retaliation. The talks, also involving both Koreas, China and the United States, have been stalled since late 2008.

"There is no other way to resolve the North Korean nuclear problem but peaceful and diplomatic", Putin said concerning North Korea, which on Sunday tested a hydrogen bomb that the country's leaders say can be mounted on a missile capable of reaching the United States.

US-Russian relations have also been badly strained by Moscow's annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the subsequent separatist conflict in eastern Ukraine, developments which led Washington to impose economic sanctions on Russia.
