Tickets for "Springsteen on Broadway" went on sale Wednesday morning, but within minutes, the coveted seats were all snapped up, and being resold on Stubhub at exorbitant prices.

In an effort to thwart scalpers, fans have to register for the chance to buy Springsteen on Broadway tickets.

"I wanted to do some shows that were as personal and as intimate as possible", Springsteen said when he announced his Broadway show.

The Daily News added: "Ticketmaster had previously implemented a new system called the Verified Fan program created to help circumvent bots, scalpers and resellers scooping up tickets immediately, and level the playing field for dedicated fans".

People in need of help can dial 100 or send message on the city police's twitter handle for assistance, another official said. Local train services have also been hit with trains on all the three lines - western, central and harbor running late.

"#SpringsteenBroadway has been EXTENDED!" the ticket outlet tweeted, with a follow-up tweet explaining that fans who had previously registered to purchase tickets will not have to register again.

Tickets for the new dates will go on sale September 7.

Fortunately for those fans left on "standby access", the Boss is extending the run with a whopping 10 additional dates. Registering again or a few times does not increase your chances to receive an offer code. Springsteen on Broadway, which will mark Bruce Springsteen's Broadway debut, will now run through February 3, 2018.

Tickets will be available for purchase 10 a.m. Performances of Springsteen on Broadway are set to begin at the Walter Kerr Theatre on October 3 in advance of an October 12 opening (Springsteen will perform five shows per week Tuesday-Saturday).
