"I'm challenging a lot of my celebrity friends to follow my lead", Hart says.

He continued, "At this point, it's a serious matter".

In a video (warning: the video contains profanity) posted to Instagram, the stand-up comic and actor dedicated $25,000 to the American Red Cross' Harvey relief effort.

The celebrities included Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Dave Chappelle, Beyonce, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Justin Timberlake and Steve Harvey. The Category 4 storm spiraled into a catastrophe that claimed thousands of Houston residents' homes.

In the wake of the devastation left by Hurricane Harvey, comedian Kevin Hart has issued a challenge to some of his fellow celebrities to donate relief money. "I've been a person that's partaken in several of them but at this point I'm going to start a real challenge".

"I think when you do it you should tag someone else", Hart instructed.

If they provoke Trump in any way to make him angry at them, that sows more division and hurts the Republican Party in 2018. Congress must raise the debt ceiling by mid-October to prevent the federal government from defaulting on its obligations.

Here's a sampling of what other celebrities shared.

Drake wrote on Instagram on Monday that he and his manager are teaming up with relief groups in Texas to help get the victims back on their feet.

Katy Perry also urged viewers to donate while hosting the MTV's Video Music Awards on Sunday night.

Even as emergency teams in Houston, Texas report having saved 2,000 residents from Tropical Storm Harvey, many more are still awaiting rescue with officials estimating at least 30,000 residents will be forced into shelters due to the unsafe flooding.

"All I can think about is how devastated I am as I look at images of the damage Hurricane Harvey has caused".
