Maguire is one of three uncapped players named in Gareth Southgate's England squad on Thursday to face Malta and Slovakia.

Maguire, meanwhile, has enjoyed a strong start to the season after impressing for Hull under Marco Silva last term and joining the Foxes in a £17m deal in June.

The Leicester City defender Harry Maguire and Watford midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah have been named in the England squad for the first time.

There will be chance for newer players like Michael Keane, Kieran Trippier and Aaron Cresswell to add to their number of global appearances.

Southgate had meant to include Everton's Wayne Rooney in the squad but England's all-time record goalscorer instead announced his retirement from global football yesterday.

The pair are named in a 28-man squad for the away game at Malta on September 1 and the home fixture against Slovakia at Wembley three days later. "He is a defender who is very comfortable with the ball".

Further details on the joint venture will be released at a later date, pending final negotiations and regulator approval. Overall, Ford is aiming to make sure that 70 percent of the cars its offers in China are electric vehicles by 2025.

"I thought his performances for Hull were very good", added Southgate.

The Three Lions are on course to qualify for next year's World Cup and are top of Group F after winning four of their six games. He plays with great composure and it's a really good opportunity for us to have a look at him around the senior squad.

Southgate is relishing the chance to see some more of Maguire as injury prevented him being called up for the summer internationals - the World Cup qualifying draw against Scotland and the 3-2 friendly defeat by France.

"I'm not sure what else you have to do to become a legend".

'For him personally, I am very, very pleased.
