On Monday, as people across the United States looked up at the sky to witness the rare event of total solar eclipse, expectant mum Freedom Eubanks felt sharp contractions.

There had been a lot of attention about the solar eclipse that took place on Monday, August 21, 2017 when most Americans looked up at the sky to see the moon and the sun come into flawless alignment. "She'll probably have some pretty special birthdays".

Greenville Memorial Hospital announced her arrival on Facebook.

Britain's Big Ben Falls Silent for Four Years of Renovation Work
A brick enclosure in the tower will be replaced with glass to allow Big Ben to be viewed by people walking up the staircase. The colossal $47-million Cdn renovations will involve dismantling the iconic clock and locking the bell-chiming hammers.

A SC mother has named her baby girl Eclipse after giving birth just hours before the once-in-a-lifetime solar event. She originally planned to name the girl Violet, ABC News reported.

Her parents, Freedom and Michael, said the decision to name her after the solar eclipse actually started as a joke. The baby's middle name is also a little different.

As a nice touch, all of the babies born at Greenville Memorial on the big day of the total solar eclipse - including Eclipse and 10 others as of Monday afternoon - were gifted a special eclipse-themed onesie, all of which sport emoji-esque suns wearing sunglasses. The new earthling weighed in at 6 pounds, 3 ounces, measured 19 inches long and sported a full head of hair. However, she wasn't named Eclipse like the SC baby.
