Putin warns new sanctions will 'complicate' ties between Russia and US

On Wednesday, United States Senate has overwhelming voted to make way for allowing new sanctions against Russian Federation in order to punish the latter's alleged interference in the USA election of 2016. "If we can not make some progress, and I have told others in the Senate, I have had conversations with them, I may very well be coming to you and saying the time has come now to do this in order to motivate some movement on their part".

The Senate voted 98 to 2, today, to pass the underlying Iran sanctions legislation as amended.

Lawmakers advanced the measure just days after it was announced by Banking Chairman Mike Crapo of Idaho and Foreign Relations Chairman Bob Corker of Tennessee, both of them Republicans belonging to Trump's party, as well as the ranking Democrats on the those panels, Sherrod Brown of OH and Ben Cardin of Maryland. "It provides for actors undermining cyber security being subject to sanctions". "The White House is concerned that the bill will bind his hands while working on the Russian-American relations, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said publicly", RBC quotes Politico's article. That provision also mandates that Congress approve any easing of sanctions against the Kremlin. "We can have congressional hearings, we can put a spotlight on it".

Russia has repeatedly denied any interference in the U.S. election and says the "Russian" rhetoric is there as a result of an open battle between the new Government on one side and the "media" and the shadow unelected Government who is imposing its will on elected officials. "And all during that process, the sanctions remain in place".

The US Senate decisively approves a bipartisan sanctions bill against Russian Federation over its alleged meddling in the 2016 presidential election that yielded President Donald Trump.

Will Amazon Deal for Whole Foods Cripple America's 38000 Grocery Stores?
When the news broke that Amazon had agreed to buy Whole Foods for $13.7 billion, the retail food sector went a little bananas. The New York Times says Amazon wants to, or already has created plans to expand its e-commerce business into physical retail.

Therefore, in order to pressure Tehran, the president will also have to acquiesce to the anti-Russia measure.

The White House has not said whether Trump would sign the bill, raising the possibility of a veto standoff. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told a Senate panel Tuesday he was wary of actions that could interfere with the administration's efforts to improve relations with Russian Federation.

The Senate voted almost unanimously on Thursday to impose new sanctions on Russian Federation and Iran.

The larger measure to which it is attached could pass this week, according to The Hill. The bipartisan effort showcases that the Obama legacy on relations with Iran, and specifically the Iran deal (which is not rescinded in the Senate bill), have become deeply unpopular.

"It's past time for us to take steps to protect the interests of the United States and our allies".
