The storms could bring damaging winds, hail and flash flooding, the National Weather Service says.

The forecast for Livingston County says that showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 4 p.m. The next chance for severe weather will be Friday, according to the weather service.

"Any storm that survives over Long Island should produce very heavy rain, unsafe lightning and strong winds", Hammer said.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a* Flash Flood Warning for.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to roll through those areas starting late Monday afternoon through midnight, NWS said.

The weather service is cautioning that hail the size of a quarter, heavy rain, and winds gusts of 40 to 60 mph hour could occur with the strongest storms. The high temperature will be near 80.
