Tim Allen 'stunned' and fans outraged by ABC axing his show

Last Man Standing cancelled ABC boycott

Last Man Standing cancelled ABC boycott

It was announced last week that ABC will be canceling Tim Allen's latest sitcom Last Man Standing, and now, a petition circulating online is calling for a boycott of the network in hopes of the show's renewal. "Stunned and blindsided by the network I called home for the last six years", the "Home Improvement" alum wrote Tuesday.

So when ABC canceled the show last week, fans were quick to accuse the network of making the decision for political reasons.

Last Man Standing was axed because of what ABC says is part of a larger decision to move off having comedies air on Fridays.

Allen, who is Republican, has been a supporter of President Donald Trump and made jokes in talk-show appearances about the challenges of being a Republican in Hollywood. Though Last Man Standing's ratings weren't off-the-charts (a Friday night slot can be a tough sell for audiences), there's a chance the show may have been canceled for other reasons. Still, she said, "I wouldn't say that was the sole factor in not bringing "Last Man Standing" back".

Khazri was lucky not to suffer worse punishment when referee Andre Marriner booked him for what looked like a stamp on Sigurdsson. The mutinous mood grew stronger once an increasingly fluent six-man passing move concluded with Swansea doubling their lead.

[.] The intent of this petition/boycott is to attempt to get ABC to renew the show. He finally broke his silence about the end of the show, during the same time that ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey held a conference call defending the decision to ax the still high-rated series. He likely joins numerous fans of his show (at least 138,000), who now feel as if the only family entertainment they could enjoy has been taken off the air, for reasons that can't possibly boil down to ratings and scheduling. "That's the job. I canceled "Last Man Standing" for the same business and scheduling reasons that I canceled "Dr. Ken, ' 'The Real O'Neals, ' 'The Catch" and 'American Crime, '" Dungey said Tuesday, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Did you watch "Last Man Standing"?

From a financial point of view, ABC did not own Last Man Standing and had been reducing licensing fees on many of its aging shows - including Sony's The Goldbergs, ABC Studios' Once Upon a Time and 20th TV's Modern Family - in a bid to reduce costs amid dwindling viewership and ad dollars. "Let them hear our voices", the petition concludes.

"You gotta be real careful around here, you get beat up if you don't believe what everybody believes", Allen said.
