Ailing Kerr attended the Warriors' practice Saturday morning, May 13, 2017, returning to the floor for the first time in more than three weeks. The Spurs shocked the Warriors in the first half, jumping out to a 20-point lead at halftime.

More than anything, the Golden State family was happy to see his face and hear his voice.

Seeing the reigning National Basketball Association coach of the year on the practice floor for the first time in more than three weeks had acting Golden State coach Mike Brown in great spirits.

Assistant Coach Mike Brown has held his own and been successful in Kerr's absence, and the team is ready to go to battle with or without him on the sideline.

Indeed, after Kawhi Leonard left the game with an ankle injury, the Warriors came back on a huge run and eventually won the game, 113-111. When we see him it gives us a little bit of juice. You know he misses being around the day-to-day routine and the atmosphere of practice and locker rooms and games and all that.

"We're a little out of sorts", Kerr said. And now we're playing from behind. So for him to even just have the energy and ability to be here means a lot.

Kerr actually was present in a coaches' meeting Friday.

Kerr had been at Duke University Medical Center receiving treatment for his symptoms, which include headaches, nausea and blurred vision, during the Warriors' second-round series against the Jazz. "I hope he's feeling better".

"He's gone through hell", Popovich said.
