Rex Tillerson Says Russia Meddled In US Election

Relations between the United States and Russian Federation, at their lowest level since the Cold War, will not restart "with a clean slate", Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Sunday.

"We're starting with the slate we have, and all the problems that are on that slate", he said.

"I have a great relationship with the president", Tillerson told show host Chuck Todd.

Tillerson said the sudden dismissal of Comey, less than four years into a 10-year term, didn't create concerns about how much independence he would have as America's top diplomat. That's basically what leftist media hack Chuck Todd asked Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on "Meet the Press" Sunday.

Contradicting explanations from the White House that the decision was based on recommendations from the Justice Department, Trump said in an interview with NBC News' Lester Holt this week that "regardless of recommendation, I was going to fire Comey".

Tillerson said he thinks it's in the interest of the American people and of those around the world that the USA tries to improve its relationship with Russian Federation.

"And so the values guide our policy, but if we put our values in the front of our policies and say, 'This is our policy, ' we have no room to adapt to changing circumstances to achieve our ultimate objective", the secretary of State said. "We don't dismiss any of them".

Nicola Sturgeon hails 'emphatic' SNP election results
As a result, the Tories increased their number of councillors in Moray from three to eight, while the SNP dropped from 11 to 9. Ms Sturgeon, the SNP leader and First Minister, said: "The SNP has won the election in Scotland and won it loud and clear".

When asked what the line was between service to the country and the president was, Tillerson stated that he would never compromise his own values.

Tillerson also said that there is wide agreement that it's not "healthy" for the world for the U.S. -Russia relationship to "remain at this low level".

However, "whether we can improve it or not remains to be seen", he added. "We don't give anyone a free pass on any of them", Tillerson added.

And you know, these are not new tactics on the part of the Russian government, directed not only at us but at others.

The Trump administration has not budged on the issue of US sanctions targeting Russian Federation over Ukraine, though Trump indicated during his campaign past year that he would consider lifting the punitive measures.

The Secretary of State's answer combined with the Comey firing and the NBC News interview paints a picture of a campaign and now an administration that is guilty of working with Russian Federation to win a presidential election.
