Swansea star Martin Olsson hailed Leon Britton

For much of this season there has been a huge question mark as to whether Sunderland had one. Had David Moyes's players not been quite so abject all season it would have been all too easy to surmise it had somehow spread to the city's football team on what swiftly turned into an excellent afternoon for Swansea City.

The Black Cats' hopes of ending a disastrous season with their heads held high were wrecked when memories of last weekend's victory at Hull were erased in painful fashion on Saturday as Swansea left the Stadium of Light with a 2-0 win and three priceless points.

That was the cue for sections of the home support to air the now-familiar cry of, "We want Moyes out".

Swansea continued to mount pressure on Sunderland's defence and were nearly rewarded on 18 minutes but Pickford held Gylfi Sigurdsson's well-taken free-kick.

That did not last at the Stadium of Light, the hosts never threatening to recover from a poor early goal as Fernando Llorente beat Jordan Pickford to head home Gylfi Sigurdsson's free-kick.

Across in the technical area Clement pumped the air with a celebratory fist but the tension in his body language suggested his muscles were clenched as tightly as his fingers. As part of a two-man strike unit in the 4-3-1-2 alongside prolific Spaniard Fernando Llorente, Ayew has come into his own and has played a part in all four goals Swansea have scored in their last three matches.

Making a rare matchday visit, Sunderland's owner was indeed looking on from the directors' box and can not have enjoyed either what he was seeing or hearing inside an unusually sparsely populated stadium.

China says it successfully tests new type of missile
Further, the recent missile test indicates that Beijing is proactively improving its defense and counterattack capabilities. Military analysts said the "rare high-profile announcement of the missile tests" was a response to the THAAD deployment.

The Icelander continued to run the show as Sunderland stuttered on the front foot and lost Jason Denayer and Darron Gibson to injury, as their fate was confirmed before half-time.

The mutinous mood grew stronger once an increasingly fluent six-man passing move concluded with Swansea doubling their lead. A little earlier Kyle Naughton had done well to prevent Anichebe meeting a risky Fabio Borini cross but suddenly he was showing off his creative side. It was the right-back's first goal since March 2011. Headed at the beginning of the season Sunderland before the team was set, the task to keep a residence permit in the Premier League, but the Scottish specialist failed to complete the assignment.

Defeat for Hull will see them slip back into the Championship after just one season in the top flight. Short can not have failed to have noticed that, by the start of the second period, many home fans had already left. Chelsea will likely already have the title in their hands, but it doesn't mean they will give Sunderland a win.

Khazri was lucky not to suffer worse punishment when referee Andre Marriner booked him for what looked like a stamp on Sigurdsson.

Khazri then had a free-kick palmed away by Fabianski straight into the path of Billy Jones who should have done better on the rebound, but sent his effort wide with the goal gaping.

Lukasz Fabianski was then quick off his line to deny Jermaine Defoe an equaliser and what would be his sixth goal in his last five games against Swansea.
