White Hart Lane to join a list of historic stadiums

Last season they finished third and today just a point against Manchester United will ensure they finish runners-up to champions Chelsea - their best effort in the Premier League.

White Hart Lane has been the home to the North London club for 118 years and there is sure to be a unique atmosphere throughout Sunday's game.

It was reported earlier this week that United boss Jose Mourinho is lining up a £40m bid for the Englishman.

More glory, glory nights were to come, not least in 1972 and 1984 when Spurs overcame Wolves and then Anderlecht, both at White Hart Lane, to win two UEFA Cups.

"Everyone is excited to welcome the new stadium, and soul and the smell of White Hart Lane will stay there", he said.

"When you are focused and you feel that your home is White Hart Lane it's so hard to change", Pochettino said. It will be fantastic for our fans.

"I think it's our expectation, with the new facilities and stadium, to move to the last level".

"When I arrived here, one of the mistakes I made was that I said the size of White Hart Lane maybe doesn't help us in the way we want to play", Pochettino said. We created a very special feeling among ourselves.

Showers and Storms Return Tonight and Tomorrow
Once all of this clears, Mother's Day on Sunday look sunny and dry for all of our area! Monday will be sunny and warm. Temperatures are expected to rise the low 70s by Tuesday , near 80 on Wednesday and mid to upper 80s on Thursday .

In retrospect, it's not the result that left the biggest impression, though it's easy to say after a 4-0 victory. "I will have a big problem with my wife!"

"It was tough because it was for different reasons", he said.

" It will be special for the people who love Tottenham, and at the same time it will be exciting to go to the new stadium". Next season it's Wembley only.

"After leaving Sarria, we spent 12 years at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic and won the Copa del Rey twice".

The England worldwide has had a superb season again for Spurs, who look set to narrowly miss out on the title once again after another spirited challenge.

For the next five years or so, keeping Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Toby Alderweireld, not selling the Michael Carricks, the Dimitar Berbatovs, that's when you start taking Tottenham seriously, when you bring in great players and don't lose your best ones. In that moment, for us as players, I remember always it was about trying to give 200 per cent, not only 100 per cent, because in that moment you feel the club needs you. "We were united, very strong".

"And we have showed from day one we wanted to work in this project and we believed in this project". Manchester United's top four hopes hang in the balance and Spurs can seal second with a win.

The former Sporting CP man has started 31 of their 35 Premier League games this term but less than half of those have seen him start in the centre of midfield, instead he has been filling in at centre-half be it in a two or a three. We have been competing against teams with matchday revenues that far outstrip ours and a restricted capacity that has meant our growing fanbase has not been able to get to games.
