Ronald Koeman unsure over Ross Barkley's Everton future

"I have got at least one more year on my contract and I feel as though I have got a lot more football in me".

He has taken a tough stance on both his star players, warning Lukaku he will not be sold unless the manager and board agree, but telling Barkley he will be put on the transfer list if he does not sign a contract.

"I think if you need [this much time] then you have doubts". Before next weekend we need an answer.

The following two tabs change content below.

Asked whether a conclusion to the deal was close, Koeman said: "Yes".

"It's his responsibility and the responsibility also of his agent to say yes or no because that's what the club needs to know", said Koeman, whose side host Watford tonight. "We all know it will be hard".

One player who is due to sign a new contract is Kevin Mirallas, after chairman Bill Kenwright broke the news at the club's end-of-season awards ceremony on Tuesday.

Minus Crosby, Penguins edge Capitals 3-2 to take 3-1 lead
I don't buy that he meant to smash his stick across Crosby's noggin. "Back then, players patrolled and policed themselves". Crosby was cross-checked in the head in Monday's Game 3 by Washington defenseman Matt Niskanen, a former Penguin .

The Everton manager has cut an increasingly exasperated figure as the midfielder has refused to sign a new deal.

"Because I like to work with players who like to stay". I can't make him better in that, but I can make him better in other aspects. We are already trying to get players in for next season in the front positions.

"He is not so hard".

Koeman disagrees with the Belgian striker but believes he can still improve his game.

He has returned four goals and eight assists in the Premier League during the campaign and regularly linked up brilliantly with team-mate Romelu Lukaku, per WhoScored.com.

Mazzarri, though, remains focused on getting the best of his team for the last few weeks of this season rather than worrying about which players might be brought in over the summer.
