Josh Gordon's application for reinstatement denied by NFL

All of those motivational quote tweets and workout videos appear to have been all for naught.

According to a report from USA Today, Gordon's latest petition for reinstatement was denied by the league.

Meanwhile, ESPN's Josina Anderson reported that around two weeks ago, Gordon's most recent agent, Joby Branion, ended their relationship and no longer represents him.

Though just 26 years of age, and not that far removed from a preseason with the Browns that left many salivating, the wide receiver hasn't appeared in an National Football League game since the end of the 2014 season prior to being suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. When that suspension expired, he entered a rehab facility, where he spent 30 days.

Aetna to pull out of all current Affordable Care Act exchanges
But insurers like Humana, and now Aetna , have been fleeing that market, and the remaining coverage options are growing thin. HealthKeepers, an affiliate of Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield, hopes for a 38% increase.

The league has yet to make an announcement on Gordon, who hasn't played since the 2014 season while banished under the NFL's substance-abuse policy. While a memory, it's a distant one as the team has changed head coaches and front offices twice since that very season. Although Commissioner Roger Goodell conditionally reinstated him for last season, he was suspended for the first four games. "Our decision with Josh is just understanding where he is in this process and being able to have him", Brown said. "Now, that's a separate question, but Josh is going to have an opportunity to reapply to the National Football League, and at that time, we'll make a decision when we know what's going on". "We felt he deserved a second chance, and we gave him that", Utes coach Kyle Whittingham said at the time.

He has not played in a game since December 21, 2014. The NFL also suspended him for two games in 2013 for violations of the substance abuse policy.

Even if Gordon was reinstated, there is no guarantee that he would wear the number 12 for the Browns ever again.
