Woman videotapes kangaroo grabbing girl at animal park

A kangaroo attacked a young girl at an Alabama safari park

It happened Saturday, when her family visited a safari park in Alabama.

The family had been there many times before, but they had never before seen the kangaroos.

A nine-year-old girl has received 14 stitches after a kangaroo reached through a wire fence and grabbed her by the hair in a vicious attack.

Suddenly the park animal poked its clawed fingers through the park's fence - which was punctured with large holes - and bit her while she was bent over. "I thought it was playing", Cheyenne said.

"I was really cute [sic] because she would walk one and it would follow her", said Cheyenne's mother, Jennifer White.

However, Pruitt's chief of staff told the Washington Post that he thinks the fired members' reactions were out of line. That money typically covers travel and other expenses for outside experts who attend the board's public meetings.

'Inherent risks of an agritourism activity include.the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury'.

Jennifer says if the park had a better barrier preventing contact with animals, or fencing that wouldn't allow it, her daughter won't have been bitten. "It's right here. You can clearly see it or pet it or it could touch you, which makes you feel more, like, safe".

But Ms White believes the park should install fences that ensure children can not reach through to the animals and vice versa. Jennifer White said, "You blame yourself sometimes, like, 'Why did I take her to the park that day?"

The safari zoo's owners would not comment on the attack.

"I'm just glad I was there", Jennifer White said.
