Late gains put British Columbia's ruling Liberals in frame for election win

In that election the three candidates were separated by just 379 votes - the closest race in B.C. electoral history.

Weaver is the only leader with a positive momentum score of +13 (28% say their opinion of the BC Green leader improved since the start of the campaign, while 15% say it has worsened).

- John Horgan was acclaimed NDP leader three years ago and first won a legislature seat in 2005. Perhaps Cowichan Valley where Green Leader Andrew Weaver visited over the weekend.

The NDP campaign has allowed Horgan to meet a number of people before Tuesday's election, holding roundtable chats in supporters' homes about the challenges of finding a family doctor or the need to renovate rundown sports facilities.

Clark's team says the Liberal leader has logged more than 12,500 kilometres on this election campaign - more than last election - visiting 50 different communities.

The NDP sent the most negative news releases - in which the focus was the other party's shortcomings - on May 5, attacking Clark for being too close to deep-pocketed corporate donors, while ordinary British Columbians struggle to afford the cost of living.

Getting "big money out of politics", proportional representation and climate change are among the Greens' top priorities, said Weaver, whose party has banned corporate and union donations. Across British Columbia, 49% of residents say they would be "very upset" if the BC Liberals form the government again, while 46% claim they would be "very upset" if the BC NDP wins the election.

Clark campaigned from dusk to dawn, starting Monday in Richmond, then flying to Sidney and Courtenay (where the Liberals hope to retain one of their two Island seats), and finishing the marathon in Hope and Abbotsford.
