Army arrests 12-year-old PoK boy along LoC in J&K

The Indian Army has conducted a counter-strike on Pakistani border posts along the Line of Control (LoC), days after two Indian soldiers were martyred and their bodies mutilated by Pakistani troops.

The Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) government on Saturday rejected Indian claims that a 12-year-old boy had crossed over into the Rajouri district of the India-held Kashmir (IHK) for the goal of 'spying'.

"Ashfaq was found moving suspiciously near the LoC and surrendered immediately on being challenged by the Indian Army patrol", the PTI said.

Relations between India and Pakistan have plummeted since a deadly attack on an Indian army base in the disputed region of Kashmir in September, 2016, which New Delhi blamed on Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Egyptian woman leaves Indian hospital more than 300 kg lighter
Abd El Aty was put on a special liquid diet in India to reduce her weight enough so that doctors could perform bariatric surgery. The minister yesterday instructed officials to prepare a note in this regard so that it could be issued to all hospitals.

Reports said that a Sikh regiment unit of the Indian army destroyed a Pakistani bunker near the LoC in less than 60 seconds. The sources said that it exposed Pakistan on the human rights front as to how a 12-year-old child was pushed by them into the Indian territory to probe LoC areas seeded with minefields in a highly militarised belt.

After preliminary questioning, the Army handed over the boy to the police for further investigation.

Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and top government officials had last week said that the Army had been given a free hand to avenge Pakistan's mutilation act.

India had alleged that the teenagers from Muzaffarabad had facilitated the Uri attackers. 23 security personnel were killed in the two-year period.
