I expect all of our players to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values and principles of Michigan State University.

According to Allen County Indiana court records, Robertson was arrested on misdemeanor battery charges on January 13 in Allen County and was released on $750 bond and a no contact order was issued.

The charges were sworn in 55th District Court Meridian Township Police, who are conducting the investigation.

If convicted, Robertson could face penalties ranging up to 15 years in prison. That player was immediately suspended on Sunday from all team activities as soon as we were notified of the situation.

When the Spartans did welcome him into their 2016 signing class, Dantonio said Robertson had been accepted into a pretrial diversionary program and needed to continue to satisfy those requirements.

A Michigan State defensive lineman has been charged in sexual assault case.

. Robertson had been a defendant in a battery case in early 2016 after an in-school incident in October 2015. He played seven games as a true freshman for the Spartans last fall and made three tackles. That case was officially dismissed last month. He had to complete a 22-week diversionary program as stipulated by the court. The players, who have not been named, remained students. Recruiting director Curtis Blackwell was also suspended February 9, but the school has declined to say why Blackwell was suspended.

There are now three investigations into that situation.

The third is an external probe into the football program, which is being conducted by attorneys with Jones Day law firm.

There has been no announcement from prosecutors on any charges for the three other players.
