Apple Makes iMovie, GarageBand, and iWork Apps for Mac and iOS Free for All Users

If you have purchased a new Mac or iOS device anytime after 2013, then you are eligible for the free downloads anyways so take advantage of that if you have not done so already.

If you've had your Apple device for a while and you've always wanted to try their productivity apps (in other words - iWork) but couldn't bring yourself to do so because you didn't want to spend for it, now's the ideal time to try those apps out.

Apps involved in the change include iMovie, Keynote, Numbers and GarageBand.

Apple has made multiple iOS and Mac applications free for all users on the App Store, including iMovie, GarageBand and the full suite of iWork apps.

As Tech Crunch reported, the Apple Store charged $19.99 and $9.99 for the Mac and iOS versions of the iWork for iOS, respectively. Now that those with older devices like an iPhone 5 can still have access to Apple's latest apps, the transition to strictly only supporting 64-bit devices may be less painful for users. These devices also received free updates and users also had the ability to re-download the versions for free.

Busch, who said he has been monitoring the track preparations at BMS, gave a prediction for the type of racing fans will witness. Busch is a five-time victor at Bristol and his driver rating there is 100.5, which ranks second in this week's field.

iMovie is a basic video editing app, while GarageBand focuses on music editing.

According to Apple, businesses and educational institutions can get free managed distribution copies for all these apps as long as they are enrolled on the Volume Purchase Program (VPP).

MacRumors reports that Apple's iWork page still hasn't been updated with the changes.

However, the fact that iWork and iLife suites are now free for iOS and macOS users without any exceptions is a welcome change. They may soon update their page and so one don't have to worry about it.

Previously, these apps had cost up to $14.99 each on iOS and up to $30.99 each on Mac. Now though, you will be able to get these three apps for free without any purchase being required.
