It is an over-the-air (OTA) update which tags along a bunch of new features coupled with security patches. There are quite a few other changes as well, along with the latest April monthly security patch from Google.

The arrival of the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Nokia 6 bears testimony to HMD Global's assertions that it would keep its regularly update its Android-powered Nokia brand smartphones.

Nokia is ready to dispatch no less than one if not two or even maybe three new smartphone devices this year with users and tech fans anticipating Nokia's next flagship device. Some of you may also have received an automatic update notification pop-up, asking you to download and install the update on your Nokia 6.

Not only does it upgrade the phone's OS to Android 7.1.1, but also adds support for 4G/3G dual sim dual standby.

Russia, Google reach United States dollars 7.8 mln settlement on Android case
Under the terms of the agreement, Google will still have to pay a total of 439 million roubles ($7.85 million) in fines. This move will make room for apps like the the local Russian search engine Yandex NV.

At first, all these promises seem to be a "marketing" technique to hook people, however, this is already being fulfilled with the Nokia 6.

"Android 7.1.1 Nougat update is being rolled out to the Nokia 6 users as we speak", reported the publication. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Nokia 6 also updates the smartphone's USB drivers. The update comes with a build number 00CN_3_170 and weighs 369MB in size. Some preloaded apps on the smartphone also get updated. The report confirms the release timeline of the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3310 in Malaysia, India, Russia, Europe and the UK.

The smartphone on the left is supposedly the Nokia 8, which features a bezel-less display on the sides, but with room for a home button on the bottom side. The selfie camera is said to have a 12-megapixel shooter, while the phone could come with a 3,800mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0.
