Some hopeful anti-Trump voters speculate that the president's tax returns could contain a smoking gun that would show his overwhelming financial ties to Russian Federation.

"I want to keep our attention on following the money", Taub said.

Protests are scheduled in Washington, D.C., and across the country Saturday as part of the national Tax March protest.

Organizers say they've invited U.S. Reps. "It tells us the story about people's priorities". "That's what the tax marches across the country are all about - local constituents asking their own representatives to perform their constitutional duty to act as a check on an out-of-control President". Trump's break with precedent has raised questions about possible conflicts of interest.

Jennifer Taub sparked the effort following her participation in Boston's women's march the day after Trump's inauguration.

Locally, the goal of this demonstration is not only to get Trump to release his tax returns but to support the Ethics Package sponsored by Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz. Congress quickly passed a law to make sure rich investors paid some tax.

In Washington, D.C., Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), ranking member on the Senate Finance Committee; Rep. United States law requires only the publication of a financial statement that estimates assets, including debt and revenue, but does not give details on the amount of taxes paid.
