Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) police said the suspected gunman boarded a Blue Line train at the H.E. Holmes station west of downtown Atlanta and opened fire at around 4:30 p.m. local time. I look back and see a guy's back and see his outstretched arm. The man then got up and walked to the back of the auto. "At that point, we got up, I grabbed the children and we ran to the front of the train", said Caleb, who started to film the scene.
"It was a regular day until we heard that first gunshot", said Cedric Patterson, who witnessed the shooting.
The shooter got on the train just like anyone else, he said: "He was wearing headphones and just bobbing his head". There was no argument or anything.
"We heard popping noises coming from the vehicle behind us".

MARTA spokesman Erik Burton said one man was fatally shot, and two men and a woman were shot and wounded.
Grady spokeswoman Denise Simpson said the victims there were in stable, noncritical condition. A 22-year-old man was critically shot and was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Citing the Atlanta transit agency, WSB-TV television reported that one person was killed in the shooting, which took place at West Lake Station on Thursday afternoon.
