To draw awareness around that 20 percent less that women earn compared to men, Lean-In launched a new campaign Tuesday in which businesses nationwide, including over 30 in San Diego, offered a 20 percent discount.

Over fifty years after the passage of the Equal Pay Act, women continue to earn about eighty percent as much money as men. The group plans to advocate for equal pay, create tool kits people can bring to their companies and celebrate those organizations that already pay equally regardless of gender.

Equal Pay Day is being held Tuesday to highlight wage discrimination against women.

Western New York Women's Foundation Executive Director, Shari Scavone says, in a civil society, wage discrimination is more than just not fair.

NY is ahead of the curve, but women only make 89 cents for every dollar a man makes here. It gets worse for black women, who are paid 63-cents, and for Latinas who earn 54-cents on the dollar.

Mane may not play again this season, says Klopp
But we are really happy to have him. "I hope we can create an outstanding atmosphere [and] make the best season we can get". But this game means so much more to them after the 4-3 turnaround last time against the Cherries.

Equal Pay Day celebrated Tues. across. African American women make a mere 59 cents and Latina women only 52 cents for every dollar a white man makes. But in some fields, including engineering and information technology, women make substantially less than men, on average, one year after graduating college.

Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre (D-Babylon) announced that she passed a series of measures to help ensure women earn equal pay for equal work.

"Because of the businesses that are in NY, if they're really trying to get the greatest talent, that's another thing that tends to disrupt discrimination", she said.

Davenport says one way women can get ahead is to negotiate higher salaries.
