No injuries have been reported, but Ford said it has 29 reports of fires in the nation.

The overheating could cause a crack in the cylinder head, leading to an oil leak, Ford said. "When service kits are available, dealers will install a coolant level sensor with supporting hardware and software at no charge to the customer".

Ford plans to mail customers instructions from the owner's manual on how to check and refill coolant.

Since the 2015 recall, there are almost 757,000 cars that are being brought back, including the newly recalled cars. If vehicles leak coolant or overheat, they should be taken to a dealer, Weigandt said.

More than 400,000 Ford vehicles are being recalled because of possible engine fires and faulty door latches, the auto maker announced on Wednesday.

Around 208,000 affected vehicles are in the US and its territories, while nearly 22,000 are in Canada and 318 are in Mexico.

The company is also recalling 211,000 2014 Fiesta and 2013 and 2014 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles.

2 killed, 17 injured in clashes near anti-militancy operation
On the other side, government forces razed the house where militants were holed up to ground by blasting it with IEDs. The official said that the search operation turned into a gunbattle after militants opened fire on security forces.

The Dearborn automaker had previously recalled almost 4 million vehicles for door latch issues in six separate recalls since 2014, including 2.4 million vehicles recalled in late 2016. A door latch with a fractured pawl spring tab typically results in a "door will not close" condition.

Previous year bad door latch recalls cost Ford some $640 million, the AP said.

Ford Motor Co. issued a safety recall to replace the drive shaft in 2017 Ford F-450 and F-550 heavy-duty trucks. It affects only 548 vehicles.

Ford said it is not aware of any incidents or injuries related to this recall.

Affected vehicles may experience driveline vibration caused by a powertrain system resonance condition at speeds above 75 miles per hour. Dealerships will replace the current two-piece driveshaft in favor of a three-piece unit with two center bearing brackets.

The vehicles in question might be missing some sheet metal welds in the windshield header.

Ford said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue.
