Woody Harrelson has revealed the name and a little bit about his character in the upcoming Star Wars: Han Solo film. He said it would involve "acquiring a certain vehicle and meeting a certain Wookiee". I imagine that's how the "Solo" part of Han's name originates.
Iger also talked about Carrie Fisher, who died in December, but was finished filming her scenes for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" last summer.
"We're just starting to talk about what happens in "Star Wars" after "IX", Disney chief Bob Iger said Thursday at a tech conference sponsored by USC and reported on by the Hollywood Reporter. One had been an actor who actually passed away and was in an earlier Star Wars film", Iger continued.
"We are not doing that with Carrie", he said.
Michael Porter Jr: Dad Offered by Mizzou, "Makes Sense" to Follow Him
There had been speculation since the day that he was sacked that he would end up at Mizzou, but nothing official had come down. Rumors of Porter Sr. being hired by new Mizzou head coach Cuonzo Martin were confirmed Thursday.
On the subject of "Star Wars", he also confirmed a few things regarding "Episode 8". Second, we will see how Han got the Millennium Falcon and met Chewbacca. Woody Harrelson is reportedly playing the role of Han's mentor, a man by the name of Beckett, while Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Michael K Williams, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge have been cast for unknown roles.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will direct, based on a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan. At least, until Rogue One came out past year and took the franchise into places that it had never gone to before, which probably made the movie that much better as a result.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set for United Kingdom cinema release on December 15.
We'll find out if this was just a big misunderstanding when the movie hits theaters in May, 2018.
