After a fair bit of success with Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3S last year and with Redmi Note 4 this year, Xiaomi is buckling up with another victor in the budget smartphone category.
Though this pre-order facility is available for the Redmi Note 4 now, the company said it will be extended to all other products in future. The launch is scheduled in China, a day after the Indian Redmi smartphone launch.
The Redmi 4 Prime might launch as is (as the "Prime" moniker is already used on the previous phone) but with different specs.
The Chinese brand has now confirmed that it is launching a Redmi device at the event and will make it an Amazon exclusive, the report said. There is no fingerprint scanner on the Redmi 4A. The company's India head Manu Kumar Jain has revealed in a tweet that a new Redmi smartphone would be launched at an event on Monday, March 20.
The Redmi 4A sports a matte metal body with 5-inch HD display.
The move to go with offline sales comes after Xiaomi sold over 1 million units of Redmi Note 4 online.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A features 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 processor, which is paired with Adreno 308 GPU.
It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top, and offers connectivity options like dual SIM with 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, Infrared.
It also features a 2GB RAM, a 16GB internal memory expandable up to 256GB, a 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and LED flash, 5MP front-snapper with f/2.2 aperture, and a 4,100mAh battery. The Redmi 3S series was also made in India, and whether Xiaomi's new Redmi phone will follow the same pattern remains to be seen. We'll have to wait and see if Xiaomi launches the Redmi 4A in a version with higher storage and RAM as well.
Coolpad has launched a new budget smartphone in India called Coolpad Note 5 Lite. Xiaomi's flagship for the year; the Mi 6 is expected to launch in China in April.
