Honda Cars India Ltd. launched its compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) WR-V on Thursday to take on rivals like Maruti Suzuki Ltd. and Ford India Private a fast-growing segment of the Indian passenger auto market. This compact four-wheeler takes the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Ford EcoSport head on, with prices starting from Rs 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Engine Specifications & Transmission: As far as the powerhouse is concerned, the new Honda WR-V compact crossover is offered with an option of petrol and diesel.

Ueno said with the launch of Honda WR-V, the company is offering a vehicle for recreational usage as well as comfortable driving for daily use in the city. It also comes with Body Coloured ORVM, Multi-Spoke Alloy Wheels, Silver Finished Roof Rail Garnish, Silver Colored Front and Rear Bumper Skid Plate, Side Protective Cladding and much more. This all new premium model from Honda comes with sporty stylish design as well as advanced technology and spacious cabin.

The new auto sports a 1,200cc petrol and 1,500cc Diesel engine and the auto will be positioned under the company's BR-V multi-purpose vehicle. The most fuel efficient engines!

India is the first country to manufacture and launch the Honda WR-V in the world. Both models will come fitted with manual transmission, with the petrol getting a 5-speed shifter and the diesel getting 6-speed gearbox.

The five-speed manual gear box petrol engine delivers 90bhp power at 110 Nm of torque and the six-speed manual gearbox diesel engine will deliver 98bhp power at 200 Nm of torque.

The notable list of equipment includes a sunroof, standard fit ABS and airbags, LED DRLs and the new touchscreen infotainment system that debuted on the refreshed Honda City. The base diesel S MT variant gets a pricing of INR 8.79 lakh while the top spec diesel model VX loaded with segment best features is priced at INR 9.99 lakh (All prices ex-showroom Delhi).
