Washington's Sidney Jones carted off Pro Day with leg injury

If Jones ends up selected in the late second or early third round, he certainly could end up being the steal of this draft class.

Yahoo Sports' Eric Edholm reports that Jones is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles, but that the injury will not be confirmed until he undergoes an MRI.

Some really bad news out of Washington's pro day on Saturday. He had to be carted off the field following the last defensive back drills of the day. "Definitely sad, but we know Sidney's strong and he's going to still be there".

Jones, like fellow top prospects John Ross, Budda Baker and Kevin King, didn't take part in the combine drills for league scouts at UW's Dempsey Indoor facility aside from the bench press. Over 39 games in his career with the Huskies, the rangy defensive back tallied nine interceptions and 30 passes defended.

Former Egyptian President Mubarak to be released
Amid public anger, prosecutors levelled various charges against Mubarak following his February 2011 resignation. An appeals court upheld the sentence in January previous year but took into account time already served.

Jones, 21, was a three-year starter for the Huskies and was an All-Pac-12 player for the past two seasons.

Last week at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Jones posted a 4.28 in the 40-yard dash. "Show everybody I run more than just the "go" ball".

The Detroit Lions have been a team linked to Jones with the 21st overall pick, and that would be a nice addition for Jim Caldwell's squad as it looks to find a complement to star corner Darius Slay.
