Seven killed after helicopter slams into TV tower near Istanbul

A helicopter carrying business executives has crashed in Istanbul, killing at least five people, including four Russians. Two pilots, four foreign nationals and a Turkish citizen are reported to have been on board, RT reports.

Officials had earlier said five bodies were recovered from the scene of the crash, without providing information on the fate of two others.

Initial reports said the helicopter crashed into a television tower.

The cause of the crash was under investigation, he said.

Emergency crews scrambled to the crash site in the Buyukcekmece district of Instanbul, Turkey.

The Vancouver Taxi Association swiftly promised to fight the province's plan any way it could, including in the courtroom. Fassbender said he's open to changes based on feedback from the taxi industry and others.

Witness Fikret Karatekin, a taxi driver, told CNN-Turk television by telephone that the helicopter slammed into the tower before crashing on the highway.

Buklent Eczacibasi, chairman of the company, said three people aboard the aircraft were Russian clients who were in Istanbul to attend a ceramics products exhibition and were being flown to a factory owned by his company.

"It hit the tower and crashed by spinning", he said, adding that the highway had been closed down.

The Turkish national who was killed headed the company's operations in Russian Federation, he said.
