Patriots are interested in WR DeSean Jackson

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is expected to be completed once Tampa Bay is eligible to do so on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET, when the new league year officially begins.

In one of the more unexpected reports of the offseason so far, a source told the Washington Post that the Patriots are one of three teams that called the Washington Redskins and "inquired" about three-time Pro-Bowl receiver DeSean Jackson. Last season he wrapped up the year with 56 receptions for 1,005 yards.

He could make a great pair with Tampa's wide receiver Mike Evans.

At 30, Jackson still has plenty of gas left in the tank and can be a major contributor in the upcoming season.

He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Broncos in 2009 and then was on the Dolphins' practice squad before joining the Redskins in 2011. Last season is the evidence of that.

The Vancouver Taxi Association swiftly promised to fight the province's plan any way it could, including in the courtroom. Fassbender said he's open to changes based on feedback from the taxi industry and others.

Near the beginning of the fourth quarter, Jackson took a short pass from quarterback Michael Vick and turned it into a 91-yard touchdown, a career-high for Jackson that still stands today.

The move is a significant warning shot to the rest of the division fired by Licht, who is looking to upgrade an offense that has the pieces to become one of the NFL's best. Over the last five seasons, Jackson has totaled 129 deep ball targets, and has dropped just two of them. While Jackson is so much more than a big-play receiver, he could definitely provide them with the spark they need on offense. Presumably, the opposing team's best cornerbacks will cover Evans and allow Jackson to match up with the lower level players.

What Jameis Winston wants, Jameis Winston gets.

Those numbers won't jump off the stat sheet, but he did average a healthy 17.9 yards per catch.

The former Eagles and Redskins standout will join a Bucs team that could use a deep threat at receiver.
