In a move that feels inspired by Cersei from the last season of Game Of Thrones, Jeanie and her attorneys went to court to file for a temporary restraining order to prevent her brothers, Jim and Johnny Buss from convening a meeting to elect a new board of directors without her. According to her, Jim and Johnny's lawyer, Robert Sacks, claims the brothers never tried to overthrow their sister at all.
According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, the brothers felt they had the votes to elect new directors from the team.
The brothers on Friday withdrew the request, but Jeanie Buss' lawyer Adam Streisand told the Los Angeles Times that he did not expect that to be the end of the matter.
"I can tell you that both Jim Buss and Johnny Buss had hoped that any issues that might arise would be handled within the family", Sacks said. And then inexplicably she then rushed into court saying they're trying to oust me as the controlling owner.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Complete Dungeons Guide
When fighting monsters in previous Legend of Zelda games, you could normally take your time and wait for an opportunity. This could mean that the producer is implying that the 2D Zelda team is already working on a new Zelda game.
Streisand, who represented Steve Ballmer during the court fight with Donald Sterling in 2014 over the $2-billion sale of the Clippers, doesn't expect the effort to be successful, but warned of the consequences if they wrested control of the team. Clearly, Jim Buss is not ready to give up control of the team his late father left to him, and the legacy of one of the greatest franchises in sports, despite a series of failures and the worst three-year stretch in franchise history. If Jeannie is not on the board of directors, she can't be a controlling owner of the team. The controlling owner of the franchise must sit on the board of directors, meaning Jeanie could have lost that title had her brothers succeeed.
The only sibling seemingly not caught up in this family drama is Janie Buss.
Two weeks ago, Jeanie Buss removed Jim Buss from his role as Lakers vice president of basketball operations as part of wide-ranging changes that included naming Magic Johnson president of basketball operations.
In May, a court trial will be held to resolve the situation.
