After the meeting, Chance was met by reporters, where he commented on how disappointed he was by Rauner's "vague answers" about funding for the schools. At another point, he said, "The kids are on the table right now".

The meeting is only the first step Chance plans to take towards improving CPS funding, made apparent by this tweet, in which he says, "The fight has just begun".

Chance said that it went differently from how "it should have". "Springfield is in session next week, so we'll see what happens".

Chance was intent on having this meeting because he wanted to talk about Chicago Public Schools (CPS). And I hope we can come to a good solution. "We talked, for a second it sounded like there might be something happening next week".

"I asked him about funding CPS with that $215 million that was discussed in May of previous year and was vetoed in December over, you know, political arguments and s**t". Like, seriously, all the publications you work for and the global, national publications out there-Complex, Billboard-people that post about me walking down the street and shit.

Chief Petty Officer William "Ryan" Owens, 36, was killed in the raid, as were civilians, reportedly including an 8-year-old girl. A number of civilians were also killed in the battle, something the Pentagon has acknowledged and is investigating.

Both said they were open to contacting each other directly going forward, and Rauner said he would be willing to work over the weekend with Chance to hash out ideas for city schools, the Tribune reports. "If we stood together, work together to figure this out, I think we could get big things done".

However, Chance did send a positive tweet later in the day.

Chance said he gave Rauner his personal cell number so the two could continue discussing the matter.

Also, to absolutely no one's surprise, it appears as if the governor maybe isn't actually all that familiar with Chance's music either, based on his answer when asked about his favorite Chance track.

He said he wants people to do their jobs - including the press, who he asked to investigate how the CPS system ended up in this situation. "Monday morning I'll have a plan", he said.
