Los Angeles Lakers Fire GM Mitch Kupchak — Hire Magic Johnson As President Of Basketball Operations

In an unprecedented power move, Johnson has ascended to the title of President of Basketball Operations just a few weeks after being named an "adviser" to the team.

For the first time since her father passed away, though, there won't be anyone else in line ahead of Jeanie Buss to take the blame if this doesn't work.

"Since 1979, I've been a part of the Laker Nation and I'm passionate about this organization".

The Los Angeles Lakers' original top target to become their next general manager was Bob Myers, who recently signed an extension with the Golden State Warriors.

Jeanie Buss made the extraordinary moves two days before the NBA's trade deadline. Fans were thrilled with the house cleaning, saying Magic has the touch to make the Lakers great again! With Kobe Bryant retiring after the 2015-2016 season it's clear that the Lakers are in rebuild mode.

The commentator said the sanctions shouldn't be taken as evidence of a harder line on Kim Jong Un coming out of Beijing. A North Korea official speaks with officials at the morgue in Kuala Lumpur where Kim Jong-nam's body is being held.

Jeanie Buss was sick and exhausted of the Los Angeles Lakers being a bad franchise for the past four years so she chose to do something about it.

In a statement, Jeanie Buss said she "took a series of actions I believe will return the Lakers to the heights Dr". Johnson has expressed interest in having Bryant return to the organization as well.

The Lakers cleaned house on Tuesday, firing Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak. Johnson has Hall of Fame credentials as a five-time National Basketball Association champion with the Showtime Lakers. He had also a minor stake in the team, which he made a decision to sell Dr. Patrick Soon Shiong in 2011. Johnson also went on to praise coach Luke Walton as the right person to lead the team into the future and boast about the Lakers' collection of young assets. The former Lakers center had worked with Jerry West and Jim Buss in relative harmony for years with the tradition-bound Lakers. "We will work tirelessly to return our Los Angeles Lakers to National Basketball Association champions".

The Lakers also parted ways with longtime spokesman John Black, whom Jeanie Buss thanked "for his many years of service".
